The decision regarding establishing the university was published ın the Official Gazette dated July 7, 2009, and numbered 27281. The university consists of 12 faculties, 1 college, 5 institutes, and 4 vocational schools. As of 2023, 46,988 registered students are studying at the university. The number of undergraduate students is 30,855, and the number of graduate students is 2,021. The number of associate degree students is 14,112. The number of foreign students is 10,610. 1,379 academicians teach at the university and 2,590 administrative staff work.
